Cybersecurity is one of the biggest threats facing small businesses today with over half a million impacted every year by cyber crime in Australia.
You are invited to attend this lunchtime event presented by the
ECU Security Research Institute and
AustCyber that will showcase the
Cyber Check.Me initiative which was developed Professor Valli and Dr Martinus to help councils generate more awareness about the threats of cyber crime to small business.
Key topics to be covered during this event include:
- An overview of the
CyberCheck.Me initiative and it's achievements to date
- 2020 and beyond, how the initiative can help protect small businesses from the serious consequences of cyber crime
- WALGA will outline new initiatives that are focused on information sharing, access to new accredited preferred suppliers that can assist Local Governments and plans to partner with other organisations to roll out an education and cyber awareness programme
- Hear from the WA Councils who have committed to
CyberCheck.Me, why they did and their experiences to date
- Real life stories, hear from local businesses who have been impacted by cyber crime
- Presentation from Professor Craig Valli on the current cyber threats to small business and why action needs to be taken
